Finite Element Methods were used to determine if a elevator manufacturer's structure met the necessary American Society of Mechanical Engineers standards for stress, a requirement for the sale of elevator systems. AXN-RXN analyzed the existing system and put forth a design that would help to reinforce critical areas of the system. Theoretical hand calculations were also used to double-check the computerized stress simulation. The completed design was formalized in a certified report claiming its adhesion to the ASME standards.
